Cruis’news “Classic Car Caravan”

Cruis'news classic car caravan

On June 8th, 2011, Cruis’news magazine’s “Caravan” will be joining up with Hot Rod Power Tour during their overnight stop at Indianapolis Speedway in Indiana.  The plan is to put together a classic car cruise (hot rods, muscle, stock and specialty vehicles included), which will begin at a Metro-Detroit location (to be announced) and tie-in with the “Power Tour” at the Indianapolis Speedway. We will join in the planned festivities, the overnight in “Indy”.

I have been in touch with Hot Rod Power Tour representatives and they can’t stress enough to make hotel reservations and that all vehicles joining the “Power Tour” need to register ($70.) online at www.hotrod.com.  Only the driver MUST register, all others in the car do not need to unless they would like a Power Tour Goody Bag and lanyard etc.  Also if we all want to park together, we will need to arrive together (simple enough).

The next morning, June 9th 2011, hundreds of Power Tour participants and our “Caravan Cruisers” will travel together up through Indiana and into Michigan to enjoy all the hospitality at the overnight stop in Muskegon, MI. The morning of June 10th, 2011 everyone will once again pack-up and cruise back to Metro Detroit where the final destination of the Power Tour is Metropolitan Beach in Harrison Twp, MI. We will be greeted by 1,000s of enthusiastic car guys and gals with their rides already parked and waiting for us. The Power Tour participants are spending the night in the area and many, many activities are planned. Metro-Detroit will once again show the rest of the U.S how to throw one heck-of-a cruise night!

Those of you who are interested in joining the  “Cruis’news Caravan” get in touch with Cruis’news by email (Subject: Caravan) or “snail mail” only (no phone calls please). Email your name, address, phone# along with your vehicle make, model color and year (photos are recommended but optional, we will publish in a future issue of Cruis’news magazine).

Remember that we are in the planning stages of this “fun” cruise. Everyone should have a blast. Cruis’news will be mapping the route with gas and food stops on the road to “Indy”.  The idea is to let everyone know that the Cruis’news Caravan Cruisers are from the one-and-only “Motorcity”

I hope there will be another event next year. I really want to bring my oldsmobile with new superchips and joint the classic car collection. I get this one from my father.
